Swiss Post

Swiss postal service is founded on 1 January 1849 as the Federal Mail, with responsibility for passenger transport as well as letter, parcel and money consignments.

Swiss Post international is established as an autonomous business unit of the Post. Its core business is the cross-border mailing of documents and goods.

Swiss Post International offers its business customers a specialized range of products to meet their cross-border requirements. It is represented in Europe, Asia and the USA with its own branches and through a network of partners.

The Swiss postal codes are assigned geographically, from west to east. They don’t follow political divisions (cantons, districts), but they follow a routing allocation, following railways and post car routes. The postal code of big cities finish with 00, and it is not allocated if in the region there isn’t a big center.

Swiss Post Tracking

Swiss Post International has further developed electronic tracking in its Track and Trace service. Now through Swiss Post Tracking System people can use the tool to track the current location of their documents and parcels visually on the website anytime.

Track your mail throughout its journey. Find out where your consignment is, and whether it has been received by the recipient.

To track your items, you need the consignment number which is assigned to each item. Go on the ‘Track and Trace’ section. Insert your tracking number on the empty space and click on ‘Track’ button. Swiss Post Tracking System is uploading every hour, so you will receive the latest notes about your item.
